engageparkingbrake.Removekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.ReadtheGeneralPrecautionsforRemovingandInstallingHydraulicSystem
Components(page5–62).
3.Topreventcontaminationofhydraulicsystemduringhydraulictankremoval,
thoroughlycleanexterioroftank.
4.Toallowdrainingofhydraulictank,disconnectthesuctionhosefromthetank
strainerinthebottomofthetank.Draintankintoasuitablecontainer.
5.Disconnecthydrauliclinesfromtankandputcapsorplugsonopenhydraulic
linesandttings.Labeldisconnectedhydrauliclinesforproperassembly.
6.Removetankstrainerfromhydraulictank.DiscardO−ringfromstrainer.
7.Removefour(4)angeheadbolts,atwashersandgrommetsthatsecure
hydraulictanktomachine.Removehydraulictankfrommachine.
8.Ifttingsaretoberemovedfromtank,markttingorientationtoallowcorrect
assembly.RemovethettingsfromtankanddiscardO−ringsfromttings.
HydraulicTankInspection
1.Cleanthehydraulictankandsuctionstrainerwithsolvent.
2.Inspectthehydraulictankforleaks,cracksorotherdamage.
InstallingtheHydraulicTank(Figure63)
1.Ifthettingswereremovedfromhydraulictank,lubricateandplacenew
O−ringsontottings.Installttingsintotankopeningsusingmarksmade
duringtheremovalprocesstoproperlyorientatettings.Tightenttings
(seeInstallingtheHydraulicFittings(SAEStraightThreadO-RingFittings)
(page5–8).
2.Positionhydraulictanktomachine.Applyanti−seizelubricantorequivalent
tothefour(4)angeheadboltsthatsecurethehydraulictank.Securethe
tanktoframewithangeheadbolts,atwashersandgrommets.Torquethe
boltsfrom3.4to6.8N·m(30to60in−lb).
3.LubricateandinstallthenewO−ringonsuctionstrainer.
4.Threadsuctionstrainerintohydraulictank.Usingawrench,turnsuction
strainerintotankportatleast1−1/2to2fullturnsbeyondngertight.
5.Removecapsandplugsfromttingsandhydrauliclines.Properlyconnect
hydrauliclinestohydraulictank(seeInstallingHydraulicHosesandTubes
(O-RingFaceSealFittings)(page5–6)).
6.Fillhydraulictankwithnewhydraulicuid.
7.Operatemachine.Checkhydraulicuidlevelandadjustifnecessary.Check
hydrauliccomponentsforleaks.Tightenanylooseconnections.
