switch.IfthekeyswitchisintheONpositionandtheparkingbrakeisreleased,
theSCMparkingbrakeoffinputLEDshouldbeilluminated.
Testing
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingunit,andshutoffthe
engine.
2.Beforeyoudisconnecttheparkingbrakeswitchfortesting,ensurethatyou
testtheparkingbrakeswitchanditscircuitwiringasaSCMinput;referto
StandardControlModule(SCM)(page6–45).
3.IftheSCMveriesthattheswitchandcircuitwiringarefunctioningcorrectly,
thennomoreswitchtestingisnecessary.
4.IftheSCMdeterminesthattheparkingbrakeswitchandcircuitwiringarenot
functioningcorrectly,proceedwiththetest.
5.Removecoverfromcontrolpaneltogainaccesstoparkingbrakeswitch.
6.Locatetheparkingbrakeswitch.
7.MakesurekeyswitchisOFFanddisconnecttheparkingbrakeswitch
connectorfrommachinewireharness.
8.Connectamultimeter(ohmssetting)acrosstheswitchconnectorterminals
tocheckthecontinuityoftheswitchasfollows:
A.Whentheswitchplungerisextended,thereshouldnotbecontinuity
betweentheswitchterminals.
B.Whentheswitchplungerispressed,thereshouldbecontinuitybetween
theswitchterminals.
9.Replacetheswitchiftestingdeterminesthattheswitchisdamaged.
10.Iftheparkingbrakeswitchtestingiscorrectandacircuitproblemstillexists,
checkthemainwireharness;refertotheElectricalSchematicsandWire
HarnessDrawings/DiagramsinAppendixA(pageA–1).
11.Afteryoucompletetheparkingbrakeswitchtesting,connecttheswitch
connectortothemachinewireharness.
12.Installcovertocontrolpanel.
