RaiseCuttingUnits
Thegearpump(P2)isdirectlycoupledtothehydrostatthroughgearpump
(P1).Itsupplieshydraulicpressure(chargepressure)forraisingandlowering
thecuttingunits,operatingthesidewinderunit,andreplenishingtheclosed
looptractioncircuit(chargepressure).Thepumptakesitssuctiondirectlyfrom
thehydraulictank.
Duringconditionsofnotliftingorloweringcuttingunits,owfromthegearpump
(P2)isby−passedthroughthepowersteeringvalve,2-spoolvalve,andhydraulic
manifolddirectlytothehydrostatandthechargereliefvalve.Flowthenreturns
tothehydraulictank.
Whenthecuttingunitsaretoberaised,the2-spoolvalveispositionedby
movingthecuttingunitshiftlevertoRAISE.Flowisdirectedtocapendsof
theliftcylinders.Hydraulicpressureagainstthecylinderpistonsmovestheir
shaftscausingthecuttingunitstoraise.Atthesametime,thepistonspushthe
hydraulicuidoutoftheliftcylindersandbackthroughthehydraulicmanifold
tothehydrostat.
Whenthecuttingunitshiftleverisreleased,springactionreturnsthevalvetoits
originalpositionandby−passesowbacktothehydrostatstoppingliftcylinder
movement.Thecylinderpositionislockedinplacebytheloadholdingchecks
intheliftcontrolvalve.
