ports of the M&C are fully functional. In this case an Ethernet failure is
due to the self-test error. The M&C self-test is executed on every
chassis cold reboot. The M&C soft reboots which may occur from time
to time do not incur the M&C self-test.
After approximately 2 minutes, observe that all Alarm Panel Service
LEDs with corresponding modules installed are green, and the text
similar to
Figure 5-24 is displayed over the M&C management serial
port connection.
At the same time that the M&C is booting up the WAM is also booting
up and starting its operation. The WAM also has a management serial
port that can be connected using the same same cable that M&C
management serial port uses. This port is not interactive though and
can only be used to view the WAM execution trace. The WAM performs
its own self-test on every chassis cold boot. WAM cannot be soft booted.
