7.13 Electrical system
Information regarding the electrical system
Maintenance and repair work on the electrical system may be performed
only by trained technical personnel or Wacker Neuson service centers.
• Malfunctioning components of the electrical system must be replaced
by a Wacker Neuson service center.
• Light bulbs and fuses may be replaced by the operator.
Alternator
• Start the engine only if the battery is connected.
• When connecting the battery, ensure that the poles are not inverted.
• Have malfunctioning charge indicator lights immediately replaced.
Explosion hazard when working on the electrical system!
Can cause severe injuries or death.
► Fire, open flames and smoking is prohibited.
► Do not place any tools on the battery.
► Wear protective gloves and safety glasses.
► Do not attempt to jump-start the machine if the battery is frozen or if the
acid level is low. The battery can rupture or explode. Replace the
battery immediately.
► Disconnect the earthing lead of the battery before starting repair work
on the electrical system.
Damage to electrical components or the engine electronics.
► When connecting the battery leads, ensure that the poles are not
inverted.
► Do not place tools or other conductive articles on the battery – risk of
short circuit.
► Do not interrupt voltage-carrying circuits at the battery terminals
because of the risk of sparking.
► Do not disconnect the battery during the engine is running.
Dispose of old batteries in an environmentally friendly manner.
