Cluster Management
Overview
Cluster Management
Definition
A cluster is an aggregation of a group of communication devices. Cluster
management is to implement management of large numbers of distributed
network devices.
Cluster management is implemented through 3Com Group Management Protocol
version 2 (Switch Clusteringv2). By employing Switch Clusteringv2, a network
administrator can manage multiple devices using the public IP address of one
device in a cluster. The device that configured with a public address and performs
the management function is known as the management device and other
managed devices are called member devices, which together form a cluster.
Figure 267 illustrates a typical cluster implementation.
