the same area, both of these nodes conclude that their area is partitioned. These
nodes will then establish a partition-repair path between them. The partition-repair
path is a virtual level 1 connection between the two partition-repair designated
nodes that runs through the level 2 domain. Level 1 packets are tunneled through
this virtual connection; this removes the area partitioning.
