Provision degraded signal thresholds
Overview
...................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
Purpose
The purpose of provisioning degraded signal thresholds is to define how many errors a
signal may have before it is considered degraded. A degraded signal causes a Moderate
Block Error Rate alarm. A degraded signal can cause an SNC/N protection switch if
the path for that signal is SNC/N protected, or an MSP switch if MSP protection is
used.
Signal levels
The signal levels on which the degraded signal thresholds can be set are STM-16,
STM-1, VC-4, VC-3 VC-11, VC-12, E3 or DS3.
