– Unscrew bolt -arrow- and detach balance weight from bal-
ance shaft.
– Unscrew bolts -arrows- and detach bearing plate for bal-
ance shaft.
– Pull balance shaft out of cylinder block.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the follow-
ing:
• Crankshaft -1- locked in “TDC” position with locking pin
-3242-.
– Install chain for oil pump and balance shaft ⇒ page 85
– Install timing chain covers ⇒ page 60.
– Install drive plate ⇒ page 54.
– Install sealing flange (front) ⇒ page 43.
– Bolt gearbox to engine and install engine/gearbox assembly
⇒ page 32.
– Fill up with engine oil and check oil level ⇒ page 157.
Tightening torques
