6.3.2.3 Sea trial
During the sea trial, the function tests will be completed. The
settings of Marex3D will be adjusted until the ship’s behavior is
satisfactory when it is maneuvered in the 3D mode. The aim is to
W test all functions of Marex3D under real operating
conditions
W adapt the settings of Marex3D to the ship’s and the
customer’s individual requirements.
Satisfactory results will be achieved in good weather and
sea conditions only. Choose a calm day and avoid places
with current when performing the test maneuvers. If wind
and current cannot be avoided, position the ship upwind
and against the current.
During the commissioning, the thrusters should be
accessible. Provide ventilation if possible.
Make sure the rudder is in the zero position before making
any adjustments in 3D mode.
Thruster test
For ships with bow and stern thruster, the function test of the
thrusters must be completed before activating the 3D mode:
1. Test if the thrust is evenly distributed between bow and
stern:
CAUTION
Risk of damage to persons and property as a result of unexpected ship behavior
Make sure not to endanger other ships or stationary facilities when performing maneuvers
during a sea trial.
O Make sure there is enough space to execute the maneuvers, especially turns.
O Be attentive and observe traffic around.
O Be aware that the boat may move unexpectedly.
