Shut down the Börger machine and downstream and upstream
system components as described in
Ä
Chapter 5.4 “Down-
times” on page 100.
Secure the Börger machine against unauthorized or uncon-
trolled reactivation as described in
Ä
Chapter 2.7 “Securing the
machine against restart” on page 26
To the extent necessary, amply secure the surrounding area
when performing maintenance. Cordon off the working area
with a red and white safety chain and a warning sign.
Relieve the pressure in the Börger machine according to
Ä
Chapter 6.1.2 “Pressure relief” on page 114.
Clean the interior of the Börger machine as described in
Ä
Chapter 6.1.3 “Internal cleaning” on page 116.
Loosen the clamping screw of the clamping unit as described in
Ä
Chapter 6.3.2 “Removing/repairing the clamping unit”
on page 131, or depressurize the clamping unit in the version
with pneumatic adjustment.
Disassemble the Multi Disc as described in
Ä
Chapter 6.3.4
“Changing the Multi Disc plate” on page 146.
Disassemble the filter press channel as described in
Ä
Chapter
6.3.5 “Changing the filter press channel” on page 150.
1. Loosen the inner eight hexagon socket head cap screws (1)
with washers at the collar of the pipe casing which are used
to fix the adapter plate (7) and lift off the adapter plate (21). If
required, use the jacking threads [A].
2. Pull the wedge wire screen (9) out of the pipe casing (2).

The wedge wire screen (9) can now be replaced.
3. Clean the interior of the pipe casing (2).
NOTE!
Pay attention to the correct installation direction of the
new wedge wire screen.
The distances between the rotation locks are smaller
towards the filter press channel or press channel and
larger towards the drive.
Thus, the side with the larger distances between the
rotation locks is pushed into the pipe casing first.
