DISASSEMBLY
NOTE
Record rider suspension settings before disassembly.
1. Remove front fork. See REMOVAL in 2.16 FRONT FORK.
2. See Figure 2-64. Clamp the FORK TUBE HOLDER
TOOL (1) (Part No. HD-41177) in a vise and install the
upper part of the front fork in the holding tool.
3. Remove snap ring (2).
4. See Figure 2-65. Remove preload adjuster by turning
counterclockwise.
NOTE
After fully unthreading preload adjuster, gently pull on
adjuster.
5. See Figure 2-66. Remove fork cap from outer tube.
