THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR 4.37
REMOVAL
1. Remove air cleaner assembly. See 4.44 AIR CLEANER
ASSEMBLY.
2. See Figure 4-86. Disconnect throttle position sensor con-
nector [88].
3. See Figure 4-87. Remove two screws and washers to
detach TP sensor.
INSTALLATION
1. See Figure 4-87. Apply LOCTITE 222 (purple) to threads
of fasteners.
2. Install fastener into lower mounting hole of sensor prior
to installation.
3. Attach TP sensor with both fasteners and washers.
Tighten to 12-15 in-lbs (1.4-1.7 Nm).
4. See Figure 4-88. Attach throttle position sensor connec-
tor [88]. Slots on female connector [88B] must fully
engage tabs on male connector housing [88A].
NOTE
Throttle position sensor can only be calibrated using DIGITAL
TECHNICIAN (Part No. HD-44750).
5. Calibrate throttle position sensor.
