Setting Rear Shock Compression
Damping
1. For all Lightning XB models except the Long XB12Ss,
remove the seat. See 2.44 SEAT.
2. Using a screwdriver, turn the slotted dial clockwise until it
stops. This is the maximum compression damping set-
ting.
NOTE
See Figure 1-35. For the Lightning Long XB12Ss, the
rear shock compression damping adjustor screw is
accessible through the opening in the right side tail sec-
tion.
See Figure 1-34. For all other XB models, the rear shock
compression damping adjuster screw is found under the
seat.
3. Then turn the dial counterclockwise the recommended
amount specified in Table 1-10., Table 1-11. or Table 1-
13.

After installing seat, pull upward on front of seat to be
sure it is in locked position. While riding, a loose seat can
shift causing loss of control, which could result in death
or serious injury. (00070a)
4. If removed, install seat. See 2.44 SEAT.
