W arning messages
The printer status is indicated on the top line of the Display Screen , and the warning message on the bottom
line of the Display Screen .
Although warning messages do not prevent printer operation, you should check the message and take the
appropriate action. ( → P .731)

Error messages are indicated in two pages of the Display Screen if the printer operation stops until you take
some action. The pages are displayed alternately .

Error notication ( “ERROR” ) is displayed with the error code on the top line of the Display Screen , and a
message is displayed on the bottom line of the Display Screen .

T urn of f the printer and wait at least three seconds before restoring the power .
If the message is still displayed after this, write down the error code and message, turn of f the printer , and
contact the Canon dealer for assistance.
