AfterapropershutdownoftheTIER4Bvehicle,theSupplyModulecanremaininadeactivatedstatusforuptofour
monthsunderthefollowingconditions:
•
Storethevehicleinadryenvironment,non-saltyenvironment,andcleanenvironment.
•
Storethevehiclebetween-40°C(-40°F)and25°C(77°F).
•
Therelativehumidityshouldbebetween0–60%.
•
Protectthecatalyst(muferoutlet)againstdirectrainandsnow.
•
DraintheDEF/ADBLUE®tank.
NOTE:see“DEF/ADBLUE®tankrelling”sectionforimportanttankdraininginformation.
•
FlushtheDEF/ADBLUE®tankwithdeionizedwater.
•
Drainthedeionizedwater.
•
DonotdisconnectanyelectricalconnectorsorDEF/ADBLUE®coolantconnectorsfortheSCRsystem.
•
Ifthevehiclewillbeinstorageformorethan30days,removethegroundcable(s)fromthebattery(s).
Storage,handling,andtransport
NOTICE:storagetemperaturesabove30°C(86°F)greatlyreducetheshelflifeofDEF .
DEF/ADBLUE®hasatypicalshelflifeof6-12months.RefertotheSHELFLIFEtablebelow.
InorderforDEF/ADBLUE®toremaininausablecondition,storagerequirementsneedtobemet.
•
Storebetween-11°C(12°F)and30°C(86°F).
•
UseonlyanapprovedDEF/ADBLUE®container.Contactyourdealertoobtainproperstoragecontainer(s).
•
Keepcontainertightlyclosed.
•
Keepcontainerinacool,well-ventilatedarea.
•
Keepawayfromheatanddirectsunlight.
TopreventdecompositionoftheDEF/ADBLUE®andtheevaporationofwater:
•
DonotstoreDEF/ADBLUE®inventedcontainers.
•
ProtectDEF/ADBLUE®fromsunlightinordertoavoidanyexcessivetemperaturerise.
NOTICE:frozenDEF/ADBLUE®hasapproximatelya7%largervolumethantheliquid.
Attherstvehiclereactivation:
•
FilltheDEF/ADBLUE®tank.
NOTE:itisveryimportanttolltheDEF/ADBLUE®tankbeforeanyonestartsormovesthevehicle.OtherwiseSCR
faultcodeswillappear.
•
ChangethemainlterontheSupplyModule.
•
Connectthegroundcable(s)forthebattery(s).
•
Startthevehicle.Placethevehiclebetween40–50%loadtostarttheDEF/ADBLUE®injectionintotheexhaust.
Ifafailureoccurs:
•
PerformaUreaDosingSystemTest(UDST).
NOTE:contactyourlocaldealertoperformthisprocedure.
•
Restartthevehicle.
•
Placethevehiclebetween40–50%loadtostarttheDEF/ADBLUE®injectionintotheexhaust.
