By default, the top-left button of the Cisco Wireless Phone 860S is set to Scanner.
By default, the bottom-left button of the Cisco Wireless Phone 840S is set to
Scanner.
Note
• If not already done, and if available, perform a test scan of a barcode.
Procedure
Step 1 If your phone is password protected, unlock the phone.
Step 2 Point the barcode reader 1–18 inches (2.5–46 centimeters) from the barcode that you want to scan.
Step 3 Press and hold the programmed Scanner button with the light shining across the entire barcode symbol until
the light turns off and you hear a beep.

Clean the scanner window
If the scanner isn’t working properly, clean the scanner window.
Don't spray cleaner directly on the scanner window.
Caution
You may also clean the scanner with a monitor wipe.

Step 1 Spray glass cleaner onto a soft cloth.
Step 2 Wipe the scanner window.
