External Shaft Encoder
It is recommended to use an external shaft encoder to measure the production line speed. An
external shaft encoder will make sure that the best print quality is achieved.
Only use an NPN shaft encoder.
Use the formula below to calculate the diameter of the shaft encoder wheel:
D = Diameter of encoder wheel (Inches)
R = Encoder PPR (Pulses Per Revolution)
D = R/(p x 600)
For example, if the encoder has a resolution (R) of 3600 PPR, the diameter of the encoder wheel
= 1.90985 Inches (48.5 mm)
