VII-2 USB Application
USB device connected on Vigor router can be regarded as a server or WAN interface. By way
of Vigor router, clients on LAN can access, write and read data stored in USB storage disk
with different applications. After setting the configuration in USB Application, you can type
the IP address of the Vigor router and username/password created in USB Application>>USB
User Management on the client software. Then, the client can use the FTP site (USB storage
disk) or share the SMB service through Vigor router.
Info USB ports on Vigor router are allowed to connect to USB modem. Models of
the modems supported by Vigor router can be seen from USB
Application>>Modem Support List. For network connection via USB
modem, refer to WAN>>Internet Access and WAN>>General Setup for
detailed information.

This page will determine the number of concurrent FTP connection, default charset for FTP
server and enable SMB service. At present, the Vigor router can support USB storage disk
with formats of FAT16 and FAT32 only. Therefore, before connecting the USB storage disk
into the Vigor router, please make sure the memory format for the USB storage disk is
FAT16 or FAT32. It is recommended for you to use FAT32 for viewing the filename
completely (FAT16 cannot support long filename).
