TS-10 Musician’s Manual Section 5 — Preset/Track Parameters
3
All tracks whose MIDI Status is set to SEND/RECV, SEND/----, LOCAL-OFF or VOICE-OFF will
send a MIDI Continuous Controller message (controller 72) with the indicated value whenever
this parameter is edited. Preset tracks will also send this controller message when a preset is
selected.
The default value of Release is stored with the Program, and is restored whenever the Program is
selected or placed on a track. The default value can be edited on the Program Control page.
• Press the Brightness/Timbre button to get to the Brightness page:
Brightness Page Range: -64 to +63
The Brightness page enables you to increase or decrease the filter cutoff frequency for each voice
within the sound on a selected track. This is useful when you need to adjust the brightness of a
sound for a particular application without getting more deeply into programming. Generally,
higher BRIT values increase brightness, lower values decrease brightness (when Filter2=HI-PASS
on the Filters Page, the functionality of the Brightness parameter is reversed).
In order a Program to be controlled by this parameter, at least one of the two Filter CUTOFF
parameters for at least one voice in the Program must be programmed with the CUTOFF
parameter set to a value with a star ( * ) suffix. For example, if a voice’s FILTER1 CUTOFF=125*
instead of simply 125, then the brightness of that voice can be adjusted from the Track Brightness
parameter.
All tracks whose MIDI Status is set to SEND/RECV, SEND/----, LOCAL-OFF or VOICE-OFF will
send a MIDI Continuous Controller message (controller 74) with the indicated value whenever
this parameter is edited. Preset tracks will also send this controller message when a preset is
selected.
The default value of Brightness is stored with the Program, and is restored whenever the
Program is selected or placed on a track. The default value can be edited on the Program Control
page.
