7.8 Installing an Internal DVD-RAM
Drive Unit
An internal DVD-RAM drive unit can be installed in this server by removing the CD-
ROM drive.
7.8.1 Installable Internal DVD-RAM Drive Unit
The following internal DVD-RAM drives can be installed.
7.8.2 How to Install the Internal DVD-RAM Drive Unit
1 Turn off the power to the server and all peripheral devices and remove the top
cover.

2 Touch a metal part of the server to discharge static electricity.
• Before installing the DVD-RAM drive, turn off the server and all peripheral
devices, and unplug the power cables from the outlet. Failure to do so may
cause electric shock ("1.4.3 Turning Off the Server" (pg.33)).
• The circuit boards and soldered parts of internal options are exposed and can
be damaged by static electricity.
Before handling them, first touch a metal part of the server to discharge static
electricity.
• Do not touch the circuitry on boards or soldered parts. Hold the metallic areas
or the edges of the circuit boards.
