To edit the created user, Click the [Edit] button.
Edit the user, referring to the table at this step.
8. Click the [Finish] button.
The message "The group registration was successful. Set the firewall, IP filter and
DNS filter as necessary." appears.
9. Click the [Close] button to close the message.
To set up the "Firewall", "DNS Filter", "IP Filter", "DMZ", and "VPN" settings, see
the relevant sections.
6.8.5 How to set the firewall
A firewall helps to prevent unwanted or unauthorized access from other networks.
You can setup a firewall with the following procedure.
Note: To setup a firewall, [Group Type] must be set to other than [Bridge].
1. Referring to section 6.1, login as an Administrator.
2. Click [Admin], [Network Settings], [WAN], then [Groups].
3. Click the [Settings] button for the group whose firewall you want to setup. The in-
formation displayed in [Settings] depends on the [Group Type].
4. Click [Firewall].
Use this setting to block unwanted communications.
5. Referring to the following table, set up the firewall according to your application
and system.
• Firewall: section 6.8.5
• DNS Filter: section 6.8.6
• IP Filter: section 6.8.7
• DMZ: section 6.8.8
• VPN: section 6.8.9

Put a [9] in the box to prohibit NBT and Microsoft DS.
The default setting is "checked".
Refuse demand of
IDENT
Put a [9] in the box to refuse demand of IDENT.
The default setting is "checked".
No respond to ping
from WAN
Put a [9] in the box to prohibit response to ping from WAN.
The default setting is "checked".
Prohibit DNS Re-
quest
Put a [9] in the box to prohibit request to DNS.
The default setting is "unchecked".
