6.8.7 How to set the IP filter
An IP filter helps to regulate access to/from specified IP addresses.
Note: To setup an IP filter, [Group Type] must be set to other than [Bridge].
You can setup the IP filter with the following procedure.
1. Referring to section 6.1, login as an Administrator.
2. Click [Admin], [Network Settings], [WAN], then [Groups].
3. Click the [Settings] button for the group whose IP filter you want to setup.
4. Click [IP Filter].
Item Description
Add filter button Create a new IP filter Up to 100 filters can be created. The cre-
ation pop-up window appears.
Delete button Delete items with check-marks [9].
Put a [9] in the box on the left side of the item to delete.
To select all IP filters, put a [9] in the box beside the [Pri.] title.
Pri. Shows the priority.
The smaller the number the higher the priority.
Action Shows the IP filter action.
Dir Shows direction in which the IP filter is applied.
Src. Addr. Shows the source address.
If not set, "Anywhere" appears.
Dest. Addr. Shows the destination address.
If not set, "Anywhere" appears.
Protocol Shows the IP filter protocol.
Area • If [Protocol] is [Any], Shows the protocol number.
• If [Protocol] is [TCP/UDP]: Shows the port range.
• If [Protocol] is [TCP], [UDP]: Shows the port range or port
numbers for [Dest. Addr.] and [Src. Addr.].
Filtered domains appear in the DNS Filter List.
