5.6 SMS (Short Message Service)
You can create SMS messages from the Web interface. Messages are limited to 1120
characters.
Depending on the setting at Encode, the message may be split into segments. For
GSM, messages over 160 characters; for Unicode, messages over 70 characters are
split.
However, special characters (such as emojis) are not allowed.
Note: Depending on the cellular phone service provider, it is not always possible to
send or receive messages from Inmarsat terminals. Ask your cellular phone provider
for information.
5.6.1 How to input the SMS password
Input the password to access the [SMS] menu.
1. Click [SMS] in the menu bar to show the [Input SMS Password] menu.
2. Input the SMS password.
The numerals input are shown with black circles ( ).
3. Put a [9] in the box at the left side of [Remember me] (click the box to add [9]) to
disable password input on future login.
4. Click the [OK] button.
If the password is correct, the SMS top screen appears.
Note 1: If the password is input incorrectly, the message “Login failed.” appears. Click
[Close] to close the message and input the correct password.
Note 2: From hereafter, the procedures omit password input.
