NOTE:
• An IRF link failure can cause an IRF virtual device to split into two IRF virtual devices operating with the
same Layer 3 configurations, such as the same IP address.
• To avoid IP address collision and network problems, configure the multi-active detection (MAD)
mechanism to detect the presence of multiple identical IRF virtual devices and handle collisions. For
