Tips for safety
About traffic safety
Never take a risk in driving because the
vehicle is equipped with driving assist sys-
tems and always ensure that the vehicle
speed and driving style adapt to vision,
weather, road and traffic conditions.
About modification
Suspension modification or use of tires or
wheels of non-specified size will impact
driving assist systems and may cause sys-
tem malfunctions.
About sound and vibration
〉
Some driving assist systems (such as
ABS) may create a vibration during work
or the sound of the motor during working
may be heard, which does not indicate a
malfunction.
〉
When you jump start the vehicle due to
drained battery power, the engine may
not run smoothly and the ABS or the
ESC warning lamps may turn on which
is caused due to the low battery voltage,
and does not mean that the ABS or the
ESC is failed.
Anti-lock brake system
When brake is applied or the vehicle is
braked suddenly during driving on wet and
slippery road, the anti-lock brake system
(ABS) helps prevent wheels from locking
to maintain steering control of the vehicle.
Caution
During emergency braking, do not step on
the brake pedal several times and gently.
Otherwise, it will lengthen the braking dis-
tance.
The ABS is not designed to shorten the
braking distance of the vehicle. Especially
in the following cases, compared with ve-
hicles not equipped with the ABS, your ve-
hicle may require a longer braking dis-
tance. Be sure to maintain adequate safe
distance from the vehicle traveling in front:
〉
When driving on muddy, gravel or snowy
road.
〉
When driving with tire chains in place.
〉
When driving on bumpy road.
〉
When driving on potholes or uneven
road.
The ABS may not work effectively in the
following conditions:
〉
When the limit of tire grip performance is
exceeded (like using excessive wear tire
on snowy road).
〉
When driving at a high speed on wet
