Symptoms of a drained ve-
hicle battery
The vehicle cannot be started.
Headlamps are darker than normal.
The horn cannot give a sound or the
sound is weak.
How to jump start the vehi-
cle
If you are unable to start the vehicle with
depleted battery, you can jump to the bat-
tery of another vehicle to start the vehicle.
Caution
Batteries of some vehicles may not be
used. Jump start can only be performed
with a battery having a rated voltage of
12V.
You cannot start the vehicle by using a
trolley or trailer.
1. After removing the luggage area cover
plate, open the protective covers for
the positive and negative electrodes of
the battery.

2. Connect the auxiliary cables in the fol-
lowing order.

Positive terminal on drained battery
Positive terminal on charging battery
Negative terminal on charging battery
Negative terminal on drained battery
3. Recharge the battery.
Start the recovery vehicle, increase the
engine speed slightly, and keep such
speed for about 5 minutes to temporari-
ly charge the depleted battery of the
vehicle.
