Electronic gear shifter
Introduction to gear position
Parking (P) gear
The P gear is used to assist parking the
vehicle. When the P gear is engaged, the
transmission is mechanically locked to pre-
vent the vehicle from sliding.
Notice
In case of abnormal power failure of the
vehicle, the gear "P" will require self-learn-
ing after the vehicle is powered on again.
At this time, the system will perform self-
learning automatically after the brake ped-
al is stepped on or the EPB is pulled up.
Reverse (R) gear
The R gear is used for reversing.
Neutral (N) gear
The N gear is an unpowered gear, and the
transmission system is in a state of not
transmitting power when this gear is en-
gaged. It is used when the vehicle is to be
started or stopped.
Warning
Make sure to apply the parking braking
or depress the brake pedal when stop-
ping temporarily with the N gear engag-
ed. Otherwise, the vehicle may slip and
cause an accident.
Vehicles are prohibited from sliding with
the N gear engaged; otherwise, there is
a risk of accidents.
Automatic mode(D)
The D gear is recommended for normal
driving.
When the D gear is engaged, the trans-
mission can automatically adjust till the ap-
propriate position is reached based on the
vehicle speed and the required accelera-
tion, to achieve the best economy.
How to shift
After the vehicle is started, normal gear
shifting operations can be performed. Be-
fore the start of the vehicle you should al-
ways step on the brake pedal; otherwise
the vehicle will move if the driving gear of
the shift lever has been engaged.
Warning
In order to avoid the damage to the vehicle
or accidents, the vehicle must be com-
pletely stopped before the gear is engag-
ed.
