EMERGENCY
OFF
Turns off power to the ash sensor, which in
turn sends the heads off sheet.
The local control buttons always take precedence over the scanner control buttons on any
PC-based operator station.
Therefore, if a scanner is taken offsheet at the scanner, it cannot be restarted from any
other location.
This safety feature allows you to work in the scanner area without concern that someone at
another location may restart the scanner. So, if you must work around the scanner, take
the scanner offsheet with the local scanner control buttons.
If a scanner is taken offsheet with the scanner control buttons, the scanner status
indicated by the operator console is OFF LINE.
If a scanner is taken offsheet by a paper break or at an operator console, the scanner
status indicated by the operator console is OFFSHEET.
Emergency Stop Button
A large EMERGENCY STOP button (or E-stop) is located for easy access on each end of
the scanner frame, as shown in Figure 150.
EMERGENCY STOP
Cuts power to motor drive, and disables sensors.
To resume scanning, do the following:
1. Release the Emergency Stop switch by pushing and turning the switch so that it
springs back to its fully extended position.
2. Press the OFFSHEET button.
3. Press the SCAN button.
Model 4000 Series Main Power Switch and Sample Controls
The scanner main power switch is located on the inside panel of the cable end’s end
support (Figure 151).
Turning this switch to the OFF position cuts all AC power to the scanner.
