Purpose:
These devices are intended to protect equipment and sensors only in case of unintended
extreme conditions. Tripping of these devices indicates abnormal behavior. Diagnose and
adjust the operation of the scanner.
The cable end temperature limit switch disables power to the cabinet subsystems in case
of temperatures exceeding 65 °C (149 °F) at the switch location.
The head temperature reporting causes sheet guide and air wipe heaters to be disabled at
a temperature of 55 °C (131 °F), and commands heads offsheet.
The thermal switch and temperature reporting of the air wipe heater
r body allows power to be disconnected in case of no or low air flow through heater.
2.3.3 Radiation Safety Features
2.3.3.1 Radiation safety warning indicators, red and green lights
Description:
Red and green radiation shutter status indicators are mounted to the head (see Figure 43),
and integrated into the user panel on each end of the scanner (see Figure 45). A radiation
warning label is in close proximity to these indicators.
