SCANNER SAFETY AND LOCAL CONTROLS
This switch disconnects all scanner subsystems, after the GFI breaker, from electrical
power, effectively disabling power to:
• Heads
• Power tracks
• TES pump
• Transformer
• Motor drive and motor
• Cable end power supplies
• Cable end computers
• User interface panels
Mill-supplied AC power terminates inside the cable end cabinet. Even
though the scanner power switch is locked to the OFF position, AC power
is still provided to the scanner input circuitry: cables, EMI filter, GFI
breaker, and power switch (refer to Scanner Power Schematic p/n
658080001566AS04).
To fully disconnect the power from the input circuitry and scanner AC
cables, deactivate the circuit breaker at the power distribution room
located outside the scanner (mill/site circuit breaker panel).
2.3.2.9 Over Temperature Protection
Description:
Over-temperature protection is provided through the use of:
• Temperature reporting from upper and lower heads.
• A thermal switch and temperature reporting of air wipe heater.
• A thermal switch in the lower left corner of the cable end cabinet (see Figure 42)
