2.4 Operators Controls and Indicators
2.4.1 Scanner user panel and radiation warning indicators
Two scanner user panels are provided, one located at each end of the beam (see Figure
51).

The primary functions of the panel are:
indicate the status of radiation sensor shutters
allow sensors to be activated, disabled, or locked out
provide means to control the scanner motion
enable splitting of heads
Button functions are depicted with rectangular outlined icons. Warning symbols and
indicator lights cannot be pressed.
2.5.1.1 Panel Layout
The scanner user panel is divided into three upper rows of sensor controls, and a lower row
for scanner motion and head split control.
The first three rows of sensor controls are organized by hazard type, indicated by the
leftmost triangle icon. Only sensors which have an associated health or sheet hazard are
controlled by the scanner user panel and include those shown in the following table.
