Juniper PTX10001-36MR - Remove a QSFP28 or QSFP56-DD Transceiver

To understand how to install or remove a transceiver of a PTX10001-36MR router, read the following
secons.
Remove a QSFP28 or QSFP56-DD Transceiver
28-Gbps quad small form-factor pluggable (QSFP28) transceivers and double density quad small-form
factor pluggable (QSFP56-DD) transceivers can be removed from the device. Transceivers are hot-
insertable and hot-removable. Removing a transceiver does not interrupt the device funconing, but the
removed transceiver no longer receives or transmits data.

To remove a QSFP28 or QSFP56-DD transceiver (see Figure 47 on page 115):
1. Place an electrostac bag or anstac mat on a at, stable surface to receive the QSFP28
transceiver. Have ready a rubber safety cap for the transceiver and the cable.
2. Aach an electrostac discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect the strap to
one of the ESD points on the chassis.
3. Label the cable connected to the transceiver so that you can later reconnect it to the correct
transceiver.
4. Disconnect the cable from the transceiver. Immediately cover the transceiver and the end of the
cable with a rubber safety cap.
LASER WARNING: Do not look directly into a ber-opc transceiver or into the ends
of ber-opc cables. Fiber-opc transceivers and ber-opc cable connected to a
transceiver emit laser light that can damage your eyes.
