4. Disconnect power to the PTX10001-36MR. If the AC power source outlet has a power switch, set it
to the o (O) posion. If the AC power source outlet does not have a power switch, gently pull out
the plug end of the power cord connected to the power source outlet.
5. Remove the power source cable from the power supply by pushing in the latch on the side of the
power connector and gently pulling out the power plug from the power supply.
6. Uncable the device before removing it from the rack.
Power O the DC-Powered PTX10001-36MR
1. Connect to the router by using one of the following methods:
Connect a management device to the console (COM/ToD) port on a PTX10001-36MR by
following the instrucons in "Connect the PTX10001-36MR to a Management Console" on page
96.
Connect a management device to the management (MGMT) port by following the instrucons in
"Connect the PTX10001-36MR to a Management Ethernet Device" on page 95.
2. Shut down Junos OS Evolved from the external management device by issuing the request system halt
operaonal mode CLI command. This command shuts down Junos OS Evolved gracefully and
preserves system state informaon. A message appears on the console, conrming that the operang
system has halted.

You see the following output (or something similar) aer entering the command:
