The Envelope 2 (ENV2) and Envelope 3 (ENV3)
Pages
Use the Envelope 2 and Envelope 3 pages to adjust the envelopes 2 and 3 for each layer.
Unlike the amplitude envelope, which always controls the volume contour of each note
played, envelope 2 and 3 are control sources which have no aect until they are assigned to
modulate a parameter in the layer. For example, envelope 2 is commonly used to modulate
lter frequency, but can be assigned to modulate any parameter in the layer.
e envelope 2 and 3 parameters are the same as the amplitude envelope parameters, with a
few exceptions:
ENV2 and ENV3 are bipolar, envelope values can be set from -100% to 100%.
e ENV2 and ENV3 attack segments are linear, meaning the attack segments increase
at the same rate from start to nish. (AMP ENV uses an exponential attack, meaning the
amplitude rises much faster at the end of the attack segment than it does at the beginning.)
e ENV2 and ENV3 Rel3 segment can be set to values from -100% to 100%, unlike the
AMP ENV Release3 segment which always returns to 0%.
ENV2 and ENV3 do not have envelope control parameters.
See “The Amplitude Envelope (AMP ENV) Page” on page 3-60 for details on each envelope
parameter.
