Alg
Use the Alg parameter to select 1 of 32 algorithms. Each algorithm changes how the
Operators are connected to one another, determining which operators are heard as audio
signals, and which are used as modulation sources.
e algorithm diagram to the right of the Alg parameter shows each Operator as a numbered
box, with lines between each operator to show how they are connected.
e Operator or Operators in the bottom row of the diagram are heard as audio. Operators
in higher rows are used as modulation sources. Modulation sources can also be modulated by
other Operators in higher rows.
Each algorithm also shows a line determining the feedback path, in which the output of an
Operator is used as its own modulation source, or as a modulation source for Operators in
higher rows.
Level
Use the Level parameter to set the output level of each Operator.
Mode
Use the Mode parameter to set the frequency Mode of each Operator.
When Mode is set to Ratio, the frequency of the Operator is determined by each note played
on the keyboard (in combination with the Frequency parameter). is is useful for melodic
sounds.
When Mode is set to Fixed, the frequency of the Operator is determined by the Frequency
parameter. is is useful for percussive sounds.
Frequency
Use the Frequency parameter to set the frequency of each Operator.
When Mode is set to Ratio, the frequency of the Operator is determined by each note played
on the keyboard. Use the Frequency parameter to set the Ratio at which the frequency is
changed.
When Mode is set to Fixed, the frequency of the Operator is determined by the Frequency
parameter.
