starter switch to the "OFF" position.)
Do not continuously apply a voltage of 200 V or
more.
Ground the machine within 1 m from the
welding location.
Turn the disconnecting switch to "OFF".
Make sure no seals or bearings are included
between the welding location and the grounding
location.
Otherwise, there is a risk of damage to seals
due to sparks.
Avoid grounding near boom pins or hydraulic
cylinders.
Otherwise, there is a risk of damage to plated
sections due to sparks.
[14] Precautions with naked flames
Always clean parts with a non-combustible
cleaning agent or diesel fuel.
Keep naked flames away from any area where
diesel fuel is used.
[15] Keep mounting surfaces clean
Be sure to clean mounting surfaces after
removing parts to which O-rings or gasket seals
are attached, then replace with new parts.
Do not forget to re-attach the O-rings and gaskets.
[16] Empty your pockets
Always empty your pockets before performing
inspection and maintenance of the machine when
bending down with covers opened.
[17] Inspect undercarriage
When working in rocky locations, check for
damage to the undercarriage, loose nuts and bolts,
cracking, wear, and damage. Loosen the tension
of the crawler tracks more than usual.
[18] Precautions when washing machine
Do not spray steam directly on to electrical
parts or connectors.
Do not splash water on the operation panel.
Wash the machine with a clean cloth, rinsing off
dirt and dust.
[19] Pre- and post-work inspection
Before operating in muddy water, rain, snow or on
a beach, always check for loose fitting plugs and
valves. After operation, wash the machine and
inspect all units for cracking and damage, and
loose or missing nuts and bolts.
Greasing should be carried out promptly.
Operating pins that are covered in muddy water in
particular should be greased on a daily basis.
[20] Precautions when working on dusty
sites
The following precautions should be observed
when working in dusty locations:
When inspecting and replacing the oil, move
the machine to a location free of dust to prevent
contamination.
Check the air cleaner for clogging frequently.
Clean the radiator core promptly to prevent it
from becoming clogged.
Clean and replace the fuel filter promptly.
Be sure to clean the electrical parts, and
especially the starter and alternator, to prevent
dust from building up.
[21] Do not mix different brands of oil
Never mix oil of different brands or different types.
When replenishing the oil, replace the entire
amount.
Always use genuine Maeda parts for part
replacement.
[22] Platform preparation
Be sure to provide platforms for working on when
carrying out engine maintenance.
Platforms should also be used for other servicing
tasks when accessing parts that are difficult to
reach.
