M A E D A Crawler Crane 5.4 CRANE OPERATION
5/2020 CC1908S-1 5-19
PARKING THE MACHINE
WARNING
• Choose a level and solid location to park
the machine. If it is necessary to park on a
slope, chock the machine to prevent it from
moving.
• Inadvertently touching control levers may
cause the machine to suddenly move,
resulting in serious personal injury. Be sure
to place the lock lever securely in the lock
position before leaving the operator's seat.
1.
Stop the machine.
For details on how to stop the machine, refer
to "5.3.3 STARTING
(FORWARD/REVERSE) AND STOPPING
THE MACHINE" on P. 5-16.
2.
Set the lock lever (1) to the "LOCK" position
(L), and stop the engine.
For details on how to stop the engine, refer
to "5.2.5 STOPPING ENGINE" on P. 5-10.
CRANE OPERATION
PRECAUTIONS BEFORE
OPERATING CRANE
WARNING
Failure to adhere to these precautions before
work may result in serious personal injury.
• Be sure to select a level place and stop the
machine there before starting work.
After stopping the machine, check the level
using the level gauge.
The moment limiter calculates the moment on
the assumption that the machine is horizontal.
If work is performed without the machine being
placed horizontally, warnings and alarms will
not be given even when a dangerous range is
approached.
• Set the moment limiter precisely to suit the
crane work. The moment limiter calculates the
moment based on the switches set. If the
settings differ from the actual work, the wire
rope may break or the boom may be damaged,
resulting in serious personal injury.
Example of incorrect settings:
• Number of falls in actual work: 2 falls
• Number of falls in User Settings: 6 falls
With the above setting, the moment limiter will
calculate the load based on 6 falls, so it will not
issue a warning or alarm even if overload is
approached.
As a result, there is a risk of the wire rope
breaking when the actual rated total load
exceeds the range for 2 falls.
