CRANE STOWAGE
OPERATION
5.4.11.1 HOOK BLOCK SIMPLE
STOWAGE
CAUTION
The hook stowage lever cancels the
automatic stop function of the overwinding
prevention device.
When stowing the hook block, operate the
lever carefully, and take care not to allow
the hook block to crash against the stowage
position at the boom tip.
Move the machine with the hook block in
the simple stowage position only when
moving between crane operations within the
worksite. Stow the hook block in the normal
stowage position at the front of the upper
slewing body when moving to and from the
worksite and when moving to and from
transportation locations.
When stowing the hook, make sure the
boom is level before stowing. If the hook is
stowed with the boom raised up, this may
damage the plastic plate on the top of the
hook block.
Do not raise or lower the boom with the
hook stowed. This may damage the plastic
plate on the top of the hook block.
Do not turn the override switch to the "ON"
position when stowing the hook. This will
prevent switching to hook stowage mode
and may damage the plastic plate on the top
of the hook block, the boom, and the wire
rope.
IMPORTANT
Stop the hook block swaying before
stowing it in the simple stowage position.
Be careful not to lower the hook block
excessively so that it falls sideways on the
ground. Doing so results in irregular
winding on the winch drum.
The boom "Retracting" operation will lower
the hook block. The hook block also lowers
with the boom "Lowering" operation. Use
the hoisting operation simultaneously to
prevent the hook block from falling
sideways on the ground.
Perform the hoisting operation slowly, and
do not stow the hook block using 2nd-
speed hoisting.
