MAINTENANCE
PRECAUTIONS
Thorough understanding of the inspection and
maintenance items is required to perform efficient
inspection and maintenance that ensures safe
use of this machine.
WARNING
Do not perform any inspection or
maintenance that is not described in this
manual.
There is a risk of serious accident or
machine failure if maintenance is performed
at the discretion of the individual.
If the severity of a failure or malfunction
cannot be determined, contact us or our
sales service agency for repairs.
In the event of a failure or malfunction while
the machine is in operation or during an
inspection, report to your employer or
supervisor immediately. Contact us or our
sales service agency for repairs
accordingly.
Inspection and maintenance should be
performed with the machine placed on a
level and firm surface.
[1] Check hour meter
Read the hour meters every day to check for any
maintenance items that have reached the
obligatory maintenance period.
[2] Use genuine parts for replacement
Always use genuine Maeda parts as specified in
the parts catalogue for part replacement.
[3] Use genuine grease
Always use genuine Maeda grease. Use grease
with the specified viscosity to suit the ambient
temperature.
[4] Use clean oil and grease
Always use clean oil and grease, and keep it in a
secure container to prevent contamination with
impurities.
[5] Use clean window washer liquid
Use car window washer liquid, and take care to
avoid any contaminants such as dirt or dust.
[6] Keep the machine clean
Wash the machine to allow faults to be detected
easily. Be especially sure to keep grease nipples,
breathers, and oil level gauges (oil access doors)
clean to prevent contamination.
[7] Pay attention to water and oil
temperatures
Replacing drain water, drain oil, and filters
immediately after stopping the machine is
dangerous. Wait until they have cooled down
before replacing.
If the oil is cold, warm it up to approximately 20 °C
to 40 °C before replacing.
[8] Inspect drain oil and filter
When replacing of oil and filters, check the
drained oil and used filter to ensure that there is
no significant amount of metal powder or foreign
matter.
[9] Precautions when adding oil
If a strainer is fitted, do not remove this when
adding oil.
[10] Protect oil from contamination
Oil inspection and replacement should be carried
out in a dust-free location to prevent
contamination.
[11] Attach a warning tag
When draining cooling water or oil, always remove
the starter switch key to prevent the engine from
being accidentally started by other persons. Also,
attach a warning tag to the machine control levers.
[12] Observe safety precautions
Safety precautions provided on the machine
should always be followed when using the
machine.
