M A E D A Crawler Crane 5.4 CRANE OPERATION
5/2020 CC1908S-1 5-31
5.4.5.2 2ND-SPEED HOISTING AND
LOWERING
WARNING
• Winch using 2nd speed only when there is
no load and no load is being hoisted.
Winching using 2nd speed with a hoisted
load may cause serious personal injury due
to machine toppling, damage, or dropping
of the load.
• If the actual load display is 0.5 t or more
when winching using 2nd speed, the speed
will automatically be switched to 1st speed.
The speed will automatically revert to 2nd
speed when the load reduces to 0.25 t or
less, but operation should be stopped first,
as there is a risk of serious personal injury
due to machine toppling, breakage, or
dropping of the load.
Operate the winch 1st speed/2nd speed selector
switch on the left-hand control lever.
• 1st speed: The winch speed switches to 1st
speed. ① is displayed on the winch
section of the monitor.
• 2nd speed: The winch speed switches to 2nd
speed. ② is displayed on the winch
section of the monitor.
If the actual load on the moment limiter is 0.5
t or more, 2nd speed hoisting cannot be
selected even when the winch 1st speed/2nd
speed selector switch is pressed.
When "Single fall" or "2 falls" is selected for
the number of falls on the moment limiter,
2nd speed hoisting cannot be selected even
when the winch 1st speed/2nd speed
selector switch is pressed.
5.4.5.3 HOISTING OPERATION WITH
HOOK STOWAGE LEVER
WARNING
• The hook stowage lever cancels the
automatic stop function of the overwinding
prevention device.
• Use the hook stowage lever only for simple
stowage of the hook block in the boom tip.
Slide down the hook stowage lever on the right-
hand control lever.
The working status lamp illuminates in red
while winding up using this lever.
Loads cannot be raised by operating the
winch using this lever, but this is not a fault.
