5.11 TRANSPORT M A E D A Crawler Crane
5-88 5/2020 CC1908S-1
Particular care is required when loading and
unloading the machine, as this is potentially
dangerous.
Select a location that is level with a firm
surface when loading and unloading the
machine.
Also, keep a safe distance away from the
roadside.
Remove any mud from the undercarriage to
prevent the machine from slipping on the
ramps.
Remove any grease, oil, snow, or ice from
the ramps, and keep them otherwise clean.
Never change direction while on the ramps.
If you need to adjust the machine direction,
first travel back down from the ramps
before correcting the direction.
Travel slowly when crossing from the ramps
to the cargo bed, as the centre of gravity of
the machine shifts rapidly, making the
machine unbalanced.
Be sure to check that the cab sliding door is
locked, whether it is closed or open. Avoid
opening and closing the door while on the
ramps or forwarding blocks because the
operating force may change suddenly.
When loading and unloading the machine,
arrange the machine in its "travelling posture"
and always use ramps or forwarding blocks. Use
the following procedure:
5.11.2.1 LOADING
1.
Select a level and firm road surface for
loading the machine. Also, keep a safe
distance away from the roadside.
2.
Apply the trailer brake securely. Place wheel
chocks next to the wheels to prevent the
trailer from moving.
3.
Secure the ramps in place so that the
centreline of machine aligns with the
centreline of the trailer.
Position the left and right ramps so they
are parallel and the same distance from
either side of the trailer centreline.
The angle of the ramps must not
exceed 15 degrees.
Securely hang the hooks of the ramps
on to the hooks on the trailer.
If the ramps bend under the machine
weight, place lumber or other blocks
under the ramps to prevent bending.
4.
Start the engine.
In cold conditions, warm up the engine fully.
5.
Place the lock lever in the free position (F).
6.
Set the travel speed to 1st speed.
To change the travel speed, press the travel
1st speed/2nd speed selector switch.
