M A E D A Crawler Crane 5.11 TRANSPORT
5/2020 CC1908S-1 5-87
Do not operate any levers other than the travel
levers (forward/reverse) while on the ramps.
Never change direction while on the ramps. If
you need to adjust the machine direction, first
travel back down from the ramps before
correcting the direction.
Travel especially slowly when crossing from
the ramps to the cargo bed, as the centre of
gravity of the machine shifts rapidly, making
the machine unstable.
When unloading the machine on to an earth fill
or platform, make sure these have sufficient
width, strength, and slope.
When altering the direction of the machine on
the trailer cargo bed, the platform is unstable,
so arrange the machine in the travelling
posture and operate it slowly.
After loading the machine, be sure to lock the
cab door. Otherwise, there is a risk of the door
opening while the machine is being
transported.
After loading the machine, apply chocks and
secure it with wire ropes or similar to prevent it
from moving.
LOADING/UNLOADING
Observe the related regulations to ensure safety
during transport.
WARNING
For details on the machine dimensions and
weight, refer to "3.1 MAIN
SPECIFICATIONS" on P. 3-2.
Select ramps for use that satisfy the
following conditions:
The length must ensure that the slope
does not exceed 15 degrees when placed
against the trailer.
The ramps must be wide enough to
prevent the crawler tracks from
protruding over the sides.
The ramps must be thick and strong
enough to fully withstand the weight of
this machine.
Position the ramps at a right angle to the
trailer cargo bed.
Align the centre of the right and left
crawlers with the centre of the respective
ramp boards. If the ramp boards are bent or
the centre of the crawler is off, the machine
may fall from the ramp boards, resulting in
serious personal injury.
When loading and unloading the machine,
be sure to arrange it in its "travelling
posture". For details on the machine
travelling posture, refer to "5.3.2 MACHINE
TRAVELLING POSTURE" on P. 5-15.
Be sure to set the travel speed to the 1st
speed, and load and unload the machine
with the engine running at low speed.
Always travel in reverse when loading the
machine. Moving forward may cause the
machine to topple.
Always travel forward when unloading the
machine. Reversing may cause the machine
to topple.
