6.2 BASIC MAINTENANCE M A E D A Crawler Crane
6-6 5/2020 CC1908S-1
[8] Hydraulic equipment handling
Hydraulic equipment will be hot during and
immediately after operation. Hydraulic equipment
operates under high pressure.
The following precautions should be observed
when inspecting and maintaining hydraulic
equipment:
Arrange the machine in the travelling posture on
a level surface to avoid applying pressure to the
cylinder circuits.
Be sure to stop the engine.
Hydraulic oil and lubricating oil will be hot and at
high pressure immediately after equipment
comes to a stop. Perform inspection and
maintenance only after the oil has cooled.
Internal pressure may still exist even after cooling.
When removing plugs, screws, and hose joints,
stand to one side and loosen slowly to release
the pressure.
When inspecting and maintaining the hydraulic
circuits, be sure to release the pressure by
bleeding air from the hydraulic oil tank first.
Inspection and maintenance includes hydraulic oil
level checks, filter replacement, and hydraulic oil
replacement.
Check O-rings for damage when removing
high-pressure hoses. Replace damaged O-rings.
Bleeding air from hydraulic circuits is required
after the following tasks have been performed:
replacement and washing of hydraulic oil filter
elements and strainers, repair and replacement of
hydraulic equipment, and hydraulic pipe removal.
[9] Air-conditioner handling
There is a risk of blindness if air-conditioning
refrigerant gets into the eyes and a risk of frostbite
if it comes into contact with the skin. Never loosen
parts of the cooling circuit.
Do not discharge refrigerant into the atmosphere.
When recovering or refilling fluorocarbon
refrigerant, consult with our sales service agency
or contract the work to a Class 1 fluorocarbon
refrigerant filling and recovery contractor
registered by the relevant authorities.
When maintaining and servicing the air
conditioner, follow the Fluorocarbon Refrigerants
Emission Regulating Act.
The customer (machine owner) is obliged to
conduct periodic inspections under the
Fluorocarbon Refrigerants Emission Regulating
Act. Perform an inspection once every three
months. Inspection is required even during
seasons when the air conditioner is not in use.
Check items
Abnormal vibration and abnormal operating
noise from the compressor
Oil seeping out from and around the compressor
Scratches, corrosion, rust, or other defects on
the compressor
Frosting on the air conditioner's heat-exchanger
in the cab
Storage of inspection and maintenance
servicing history
Keep records of the administrator's name, location
of the machine, initial amount of freon filled, and
dates of inspection, repair, refrigerant recovery, and
refrigerant filling until the machine is disposed of.
