Select the unit of measurement for the rulers either from
the Settings window or the Preview window.
Rulers, Unit of Measurement
The rulers on the top and left sides of the Preview window help you with
measurement and alignment, marking off measurement according to the
selected unit (inch, pica, pixel, etc.).
The unit of measurement can be selected in two ways:
• Through the Unit List box in the Settings window.
• Through the arrowhead at the corner where the vertical and horizontal
rulers meet in the Preview window.
The drop-down menu through this method also lets you format the

background color of your rulers (Mac only).
The options for unit of measurement include inch, centimeter, millimeter, point,
pica, and pixel. The pixel option is dimmed if the selected resolution unit is lpi.
Note that any change in the ruler's unit of measrement is similarly reflected in
the unit of measurement for the edit boxes in the output image dimensions in
the Settings window.
