4-OPERATINGINSTRUCTIONS
WhenevertheignitionisturnedOn,iftheenginesenses
thatthetemperatureistoocold,the“WaittoStart”mes-
sagewilldisplayonthearmrestdisplay.Itwillremainon
untilthepreheattemperaturehasbeensatised.Theen-
ginewillnotstartwiththewaittostartlampon.Oncethe
lightgoesout,withthekeyintheONpositionandpress
andholdtheSTART/STOPbuttontocranktheengine.
HoldtheSTART/STOPbuttonuntiltheenginestarts.
NOTICE:Donotusethestartingmotorformorethan15
secondswithoutstopping.Wait2to3minutesbetween
startingattemptstoallowthestartingmotortocool.
NOTICE:Iftheenginestartsandthenstops,waitforthe
startermotortostopturningbeforeyoupresstheSTART/
STOPbuttonagain.
Aftertheengineiswarm,checkthattheoilpressureand
coolanttemperatureindicatorsareinthenormalrange
andthatalloperatingvalues,displayedonthearmrest
display,areindicatingnormaloperation.Ifnot,shutdown
theengineandlocatethecause.

Warmupperiod
Boththeengineandthehydraulicsystemrequirea
warm-upperiodbeforeoperation.
•
Whenadieselengineisoperatedcoldathighthrottle,it
willmissandrunrough.Thisisnormalandwillsubside
astheenginewarms.
•
Whenhydraulicoilisoperatedcold,itwillcreateawhin-
ingnoise.Thenoisewillsubsideasthehydraulicoil
warms.
•
Normalwarmupforengineandoiliswithin2minutes
at1200RPM.Inseverecolditmaybenecessaryto
continuewarmupforanadditional4minutes.But,after
hydraulicoilreaches4°C(40°F),thefaulthasturned
offandtheengineoroilisnotready,checkforother
causes.
Beforethedrivesystemcanoperateefciently,the
followingconditionsmustbemet.
•
Thehydraulicoilinthereservoirmustbehigherthan
4°C(40°F)Iftheoilisbelow4°C(40°F),thedrive
systemwillde-rateto5km/h(3mph)andafaultwill
appearonthearmrestdisplay.Oncetheoilwarmsto
greaterthan4°C(40°F),thefaultwillturnoff,however
thedrivemustbereturnedtoNeutraltoresetthedrive.
Thenmovejoysticktodesiredrangeandnormaloper-
ationcanberesumed.
•
Oncetheoilwarmstogreaterthan4°C(40°F),the
faultwillturnoff,howeverthedrivemustbereturnedto
Neutraltoresetthedrive.Thenmovejoysticktodesired
rangeandnormaloperationcanberesumed.
NOTE:Ifthehydraulicoilislessthan2°C(35°F),the
vehiclewillbelimitedtoaspeedof5km/h(3mph).Af-
terthehydraulicoilhaswarmedtoatemperatureof4°C
(40°F),normaloperationofthevehiclewillresume.
