Cleanupatendofoperation
NOTE:Itisrecommendedthatthesprayerbewashedaftertheapplicationofanypesticides,herbicides,fungicides,
etc.Washthesprayertoreducethepotentialofoperatorscomingincontactwiththepesticides,herbicides,fungi-
cides,etc.
NOTICE:Ifusingapressurewashertocleanthevehicle,becarefulnottopressurewashthenodeareasunderthe
cabortheelectricalboxcontainingnodesontheframenexttotheengine.Thenodeareasareidentiedbyadecal
statingdonotpressurewash.
Chemicalscausecorrosion.Itisalsodangeroustoallowcertainchemicalstocontaminateeachother.Therefore,
thoroughcleanupisrequiredattheendofeachoperation.
1.Therststeptosimplifycleanupproblems,istoplantouseupallthechemicalinthetankattheendofthe
sprayingjob.Ifallthechemicalisnotusedup,youmustdraintheproductfromtheproducttank.Connecta
feederhosetothe“producttankfast-ll”coupler.Closetheboomvalves.Openthe“producttankfast-ll”valve
anddrainthechemicalbackintoasuitablesizedtankorcontainer.Smallamountsofchemicalcanbedrained
backintocontainers/tankfortemporarystorage.Closetheproducttankfast-llvalve.
2.Aftertheproducttankisempty,Closethemainproducttanksumpvalve.Opentherinsetankvalve,butleave
theboomvalveclosed.
3.Opentherinselinevalveandturnontheproductpump.Thiswillforceclearwaterthroughtherinsetubetothe
topoftheproducttankandwashdownthesidesofthetank.Thenclosetherinselinevalveandopenthesparge
valvetocleanthespargelines.Whenyouhaveenoughrinsewaterincirculation,shutofftherinsetankvalve,
eductorvalveandbypassvalve.Conservethecleanrinsewaterintherinsetankbecauseitmaybenecessary
torepeattherinsecycleseveraltimes.
4.Thoroughlyrinsethechemicaleductorifsoequippedbyopeningtheeductorvalveandthepressuresidevalve
betweentheproductpumpandeductor.
5.Shutoffboththerinseandspargelinesandopentheboomvalve.Openthesumpvalveandpumptherinse
waterfromtheproducttank,throughtheproductpump,boomlinesandnozzles.Alwaysspraytherinseonthe
eld.Keepthechemicalproductintheeldwhereitwasused.
6.StartoverwithStep2andrinseagain.Dothisthoroughly.Somechemicalscannotbecontaminatedwitheach
otheranditisusualinthesecasestodotherinseprocedurevetosixtimes,usingupallthewaterintherinse
tank.
7.Ifthisisanendoftheseasoncleanup,draintheproducttanksumpcompletelybyremovingthedrainplugor
hoseinthesump.Removethebottomvolutepipeplugfromthebottomofthepumptodrainthepumpcompletely.
Crackopentheenddrainsontheboompipesandremovethedrainplugsintheboomlinelterstoremoveall
liquid.Removethedrainplugfromthe“Y”strainertodrainthestrainer.
8.Ifconditionsarefreezing,youmaywanttochargethelineswithPROPERFORMANCERV/MARINEANTIFREEZE
-50°F.Addtheantifreezetotherinsetank,perlabelinstructions.Firstpumptheantifreezewiththerinsetank,
spargelineandrinselines,eductorlinesandbypasslinesopen.Keepalltheboomvalvesclosed.Thenopen
theboomvalvesandpumpuntilthePROPERFORMANCERV/MARINEANTIFREEZE-50°Fcomesoutofthespray
nozzles.Allwetsystemlinesshouldnowbecharged.Closetheboomvalves.
9.Rinsethefoamerreservoirwithwateranddraincompletely.Drainthecompletefoamersystem.
10.Ifconditionsarefreezing,addPROPERFORMANCERV/MARINEANTIFREEZE-50°Ftothetank.Donotusewind-
shieldwasheruidbecauseitcanclogthefoamer.Turnonmachineandsystemuntilantifreezereacheseach
foamhead.
Flushproductpumpafteruse
NOTICE:Toavoiddamagetothepump,NEVERrunthepumpdry.Alwaysbesurethereisliquidinthepumpbefore
starting.
Oneofthemostcommoncausesforfaultypumpperformanceis“gumming”orcorrosioninsidethepump.Flush
thepumpandentiresystemwithasolutionthatwillchemicallyneutralizetheliquidpumped.Mixaccordingtothe
manufacturer’sdirections.Thiswilldissolvemostresidueremaininginthepump,leavingtheinsideofthepumpclean
forthenextuse.
Aftercleaningthepumpasdirectedabove,ushitwithPROPERFORMANCERV/MARINEANTIFREEZE-50°F.Plugthe
portstokeepoutairduringstorage.Forshortperiodsofidleness,noncorrosiveliquidsmaybeleftinthepump,but
airmustbekeptout.Plugtheportsorsealtheportconnections.
