Aircompressordischargelines
Allaircompressorshaveasmallamountoflubricating
oilcarryoverwhichlubricatesthepistonringsandmov-
ingparts.Whenthislubricatingoilisexposedtonormal
aircompressoroperatingtemperaturesoveraperiodof
time,thelubricatingoilwillformvarnishorcarbonde-
posits.Ifthefollowinginspectionsarenotdone,the
aircompressorpistonringswillbeaffectedbyhighop-
eratingtemperaturesandpressuresandwillnotseal
correctly.Locatetheairsystemtanklocatedinsidethe
rightrearcorneroftheenginecompartment.

1.Draintheairsystemtoremoveallpressure.
2.Removetheairdischargelinefromtheaircompressor.
3.Measurethetotalcarbondepositthicknessinsidethe
airdischargeline.Ifthetotalcarbondepositexceeds
2mm(0.08in),cleanandinspecttheaircompressor
cylinderhead,thevalveassemblyandthedischarge
line.Replaceifnecessary.Contactyourdealerfor
properprocedures.
