Whenstoringthevehicleforperiodsoftime,thefollow-
ingproceduresmustbefollowedtolessenthechance
ofrustformingontheunit:
1.Changeengineoilandlter.
2.Washthevehiclethoroughlytakingspecialcaretore-
moveallchemicals,fertilizer,greaseandoil.Rinse
tankthoroughly.Cleanmudfromaxlekneejointsand
wheelmotorarea.
3.DoNOTleavetheboompartlyunfolded.Withtheve-
hicleatacompletestop,completelyfoldtheboomand
placeintothetransportcradles.
4.Installthesafetystopsontotheliftcylinders.
4.Parkthemachineinacool,dryarea.
5.Lubricatethemachine,especiallyanyslidingparts
suchascylinders.Ifthemachinewillbeexposed
tooutsideelements,theexposedportionofcylinder
rodsmustbeprotectedwitharustpreventative.The
followingstepsarerecommendforstorage:

Positionequipmentasitwillbestored.
•
Identifyallexposedcylinderrodareas.
•
Removealldirt,greaseorothercontaminantsfrom
therodsurfacebyusingasoftclothdampenedwith
anappropriateoilbasedsolvent.
•
Exposedrodsurfacesshouldbecleanedpriorto
coating.
•
Inspecttherodsurfaceforanynoticeablesurface
defects.
•
ApplyacoatingofrustpreventativesuchasWD-40®
toallexposedrodsurfaces.
•
Periodically,inspecttherodsurfacesandapplyad-
ditionalrustpreventativeasneeded.
6.Removebatteriesandstoreinsafearea.
NOTICE:Ifthebatteriesarenotusedformorethanfour
months,theyshouldbeperiodicallyrechargedtokeep
themfullycharged.
7.Changehydraulicoilandlters.Fillhydraulictankto
fullposition.
