Itisrecommendedthatcautionbeusedwhenstarting
anenginethathasbeeninstorage.
1.Removeallprotectivecoveringsfromthemachine.
2.Removethebatteriesfromstorage.Checkiffully
charged,chargeifneeded.Installbatteriesand
connectcables.
3.Performallperiodicmaintenanceforappropriate
hours.
4.Checkthehydraulicuidlevel.Changethehy-
draulicuidlter.
5.Drainfueltankandreplacefuel,orlterfuel
throughacleanchamoistoremovewaterand
otherimpurities.
6.Changefuellterandprimefuelsystem.
7.Inatethetirestothecorrectoperatingpressures.
8.Placealightcoatofgreaseonthehydrauliccylin-
derrods.
9.Cranktheenginewiththestartermotor,withthe
fuelshutoffsothattheenginewillnotstart,for
about15seconds.Thiswilllubricatetheengine
bearingsandavoidseriousdamage.Donotaccel-
eratetheenginerapidly,oroperateathighrevolu-
tionsperminuteimmediatelyafterstarting.
10.Starttheengineandwarmuptothenormaloper-
atingtemperature.
11.Ifyouhaveafoammarkerandit’slledwithPRO
PERFORMANCERV/MARINEANTIFREEZE-50°F,
ushthoroughlybeforellingitwithwater.
12.Installconsolebackintounit.
